In America, the minimum wage is $7.25 an hour. In Australia it’s $15.96 an hour. Australia’s economy is doing very well. America’s is in the toilet. So that’s interesting. - ichindar

ETA: The Australian and American dollars are roughly equivalent right now. Some people have pointed out that the cost of living in Australia is higher than in the U.S. But not twice as expensive, though their minimum wage is more than twice as high. Australia was one of the only countries in the world that survived the economy crisis without a recession.
